Concert in Aid of the Violin Study Programme for Blind Children

The Violin Study Programme for Blind Children was founded in 2014 by violinist Sebastian See-Schierenberg and is run under the UK-registered charity Live4Music (UK 1150636). Its aims are to provide music education to blind children from the poorest sectors of society who attend the Kyeemindine School for the Blind in Yangon. The programme, now in its third year, continues weekly. Lessons are delivered by assistant violin teachers based in Yangon. Any donations from this concert will be used to pay for instruments, equipment, and Myanmar music teachers' salaries. The performers will be: Soloists of the Orchestra for Myanmar, The Strand Singers, Musicians from Gitameit Music Institute, singers Joanne Schmoll, Lalo Medina, and Saw Sandy Naing, pianists Priscilla Dantas and Saw Tun Aung Khant and violinist/project director Sebastian See-Schierenberg.
